Full CMS Web Site in a Day

One of the many great things about Drupal (and yes, I'm a fanboi) is the speed in which a site can be spun up. And not just any site, because any idiot can whip up a web site in a day, but I'm talking about a fully functioning, dynamic/database-driven, CMS web site: customized, themed or skinned matching your look and feel, in a day. Yes, in a day. One day.

Mind you, I'm not saying that you are going to get everything you want right off the bat - there will likely need to be some level of customization, but the baseline of your site can be built, launched, and generating traffic almost immediately. How? Simple, really - assuming you know the basics of a Drupal web site (and we do) and can quickly install and configure the bones and meat of the system (and we can). And there's only a few must-have drupal modules.

Content- I've harped on this before, and because it's still the most difficult part of a web site, I'll harp on it again: Content, content, content. If you don't know what you want your web site to say, then you aren't ready for a web site. Well, ok - you can have a site, but you will have to accept that it will continue to evolve as you gather more content. But that's a good thing, really.

A great starting point (once you've got your content squared away) is a template site, like templatemonster. Will they have exactly what you're looking for? No, probably not - but the thing to remember is that any template, or design can be modified. Find something you like, but change the color- or the order of modules, or the number of pages, or the tabs... whatever. That's the true beauty of Drupal: It is infinately (probably) configurable. And it can be fast.
